Claudia Furlow, raised in suburban Washington, D.C., and the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, earned her MFA in 2D Studio/Painting from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. She holds a BFA from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia, and a BA in English from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

 

Claudia's adventures driving cross-country with her Shetland Sheepdog, Abigail, life in Virginia, Wisconsin, Washington State, and Georgia, and treks to the United Kingdom, France and Spain have fed her imagination and creative content. Her oil paintings have been exhibited in Virginia, Georgia, Washington State, Washington, D.C., Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom, online by the National Oil & Acrylics Paints' Society (NOAPs), and are held at Georgia Southern University, Blue Ridge Community College, and in private collections.

 

Claudia has taught at Georgia Southern University, Savannah University, and has taught art processes in museum education for 15 years. She is currently Adjunct Professor of Art Foundations at Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, Virginia, where she teaches drawing and art appreciation.
